Paloma
Considered the cousin to the margarita, this cocktail is a classic drink that features tequila and grapefruit (instead of the usual lime). Changing the citrus fruit makes for a sour flavor that is both refreshing and tart.
Ingredients:
- Tequila
- Lime juice
- Grapefruit juice
- Simple syrup
- Soda water
Rim the glass with salt and stir the first four ingredients together to make the drink. Top with soda water and a grapefruit wedge.
Iced Mexican Coffee
If you want to start Cinco de Mayo out right but need your caffeine, this is the perfect drink.
Ingredients:
- Ice cubes
- 1 tbsp chocolate syrup
- 1shot coffee liqueur
- ½ cup coffee
- Pinch of cinnamon
- 1 tbsp heavy cream
Drizzle your chocolate syrup on the bottom and sides of the glass. Add your ice and shot of liquor. Next, add your coffee and cream. Top it off with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Colsa Martini
Like the margarita, the martini is a classic drink and one you can’t go wrong with. To make this Cinco de Mayo special, use this recipe.
Ingredients:
- 0.5 oz. white vermouth
- 1.5 oz. tequila
- 1 grapefruit twist
- 2 dashes of grapefruit bitters
Combine the grapefruit bitters, vermouth, and tequila into a mixing glass with ice to make the drink. Stir the mixture well and strain the mix into a few glasses with ice.

Ranch Water
By some, this is considered the unofficial drink in West Texas, which makes it the perfect Tex Mex drink for your celebration. You can think of it as a lighter, bubbly version of the traditional margarita.
Ingredients:
- Tequila
- Lime juice
- Mineral water
To make Ranch Water, add two tequila shots to your glass and mix in the juice of one lime. Fill up the glass with ice, and then top with your choice of preferred mineral water. We highly recommend a delicious can of 100% blue agave hard seltzer Texas Ranch Water, available in zesty lime and original grapefruit.
Cantarito
If you love the Paloma or margarita, you’ll love the slightly more citrusy flavors of the cantarito.
Ingredients:
- Grapefruit soda
- Tequila
- Lime juice
- Lemon juice
- Orange juice
- 1 pinch of salt
Use a highball glass for this drink and add your tequila, lemon, lime, and orange juice to the cup. Add the salt and top it off with grapefruit soda.
Cilantro Jalapeno Limeade
Are you looking for a fun, non-alcoholic drink for those attending your Cinco de Mayo party who may be underage or do not want alcohol? If so, this is the perfect addition to your drink menu.
Ingredients:
- Ice
- 2 ¼ c. water
- ¾ c. fresh lime juice
- 3/8 c. sugar
- 3 lime wedges
- ¼ c. agave nectar
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- ½ c. coarsely chopped cilantro
- 1 tbsp sugar
- ¼ c. jalapeno peppers (seeded)
To make the drink, combine the water, sugar, and agave nectar in a saucepan and heat on medium-high heat. Bring the mix to a boil and then remove from the heat. Stir in the jalapeno and cilantro and allow the mix to rest for 30 minutes. Pour the mixture into a bowl and cover to rest for a minimum of three hours.
Combine your salt and sugar in a bowl and rub the rims of your glasses with a lime wedge and then into the mixture.
Strain your jalapeno and cilantro mix using a fine sieve over a bowl and throw the solids away. Stir in the lime juice and fill the cups with ice and your drink mixture.
Tequila Sunrise
For simple and delicious, you can’t beat the tequila sunrise. It features beautiful colors and only three ingredients.
Ingredients:
- Tequila
- Grenadine
- Orange juice
You will mix your orange juice and tequila in a highball glass to make this drink. After that, you add the grenadine and allow it to settle to the bottom.
Classic Chelada
Today, beer cocktails are extremely popular. Even better, they are simple to make.
Ingredients:
- Mexican lager beer
- Tajin or Old Bay for the rim and fine sea salt
- Lime juice
Add the lime juice to clear ice, and add your beer. Line your rim with the desired spices and salt, and you’re done.
Mexican Mule
Besides the margarita, no drink is better for Cinco de Mayo than the Mexican Mule.
Ingredients:

Add your ginger beer, lime juice, and tequila into a serving glass or copper mug to make this drink. Add your ice and lime for garnish.
